New Moon

Ok, saw New Moon Thursday @ 6:15! A friend of mine that attends the mormon church, well they were putting something together and she got me, my cousin and some other girlfriends a ticket. So we were blessed! Thank goodness too, cause when we got there at 5:15p, the line for the midnight showings were already wrapped around the building! Yikes!!! Anyway, I so enjoyed the movie and thought it was better then Twilight. Can't wait for the Eclipse release and since my brother Ricky lives in Hollywood and knows some people......if you know what I mean......he's going to work on getting me tickets to the LA premiere!!!! Oh, I so hope so!! :-)

Kaden 1st day of 1st grade

Kaden had good 1st week of school. They really haven't started doing anything yet at school. Just getting to know each other. He has a lot of friends from his Kindergarden class in his new class. He loves the fact that he gets to ride the bus this year! I of course had to meet him at his school the first cause I'm a paranoid mom! He did indeed make it to school ok and to his class! :-)

Welcoming Kellen Ryan

Well Kellen Ryan entered into the world on Monday August 17, 2009 @ 1:51a! Weighing in at 8lbs 10.5 oz, and 19 1/2 inches in length! I was admitted to the hospital on the 16th, dilated to a 4! They broke my water and started the patosum (probably spelled that wrong)! About 9:30p I was dilated to a 5 and decided to get my epidural at that time. I was starving since I have not had any food since 10a on Sunday. Since I was being rolled down to the operating room at 8:30a Monday morning I still couldn't eat. Got my tubal,

which was a very interesting experience. And final once I was able to hold down a cracker and some water I was able to eat, FINALLY!!! :-) Anyway, we stayed in the hospital till Wednesday afternoon, and am now home with my other two boys! It's been great, a little low on the sleep but that's to be expected. But when I do sleep, I'm enjoying the fact that I'm comfortable and don't get up every second to go to the bathroom. Kellen has been doing really well, though he doesn't like to sleep on his back. In the last couple days he's gotten up just a couple times in the middle of the night. He takes really good naps and eats very well! Kaden and Kohen are enjoying there baby brother and just love being around him. Kaden mostly! He's a great helper and an awesome big brother!

Baby Shower

Had a wonderful baby shower that my step mother in law thru for me!  Lots of friends and family showed up and got lots of really cute stuff for baby Kellen!  I'm officially 37 weeks now, have a Dr. appointment today, hopefully there has been some action going on down there!  I pray!!! :-) I am so ready for this baby to come.  It's hot, I'm uncomfortable, can't sleep, and my back and feet hurt.  Other than that I've been doing really well.  Just took a trip to Albany, Oregon to watch Ryan in a shooting match.  That was actually a miserable drive, but the stay was nice. It was great to get away for the weekend.  Got some shopping done at the Woodburn Mall, which was great until it started to down pour.  The kids were great, but on the way home they just wanted to be home, so they got a little impatient towards the end of the ride.  That's all for now folks! :-)

4th of July

Well here it is 4th of July!!!!!  Went to watch the fireworks with my parents up on Canal Dr. cause I didn't want to deal with all the people in the park.  Not liking the picture of me so much, kinda looking a little fat!  Haaa since I'm 34 weeks, I guess that's ok! :-) We had a pretty quiet 4th of July, didn't do much cause Ryan had to work that night.  Went swimming at my parents, then home to relax before heading down to watch the festivities.  Kaden and Kohen enjoyed the fireworks and as you can see they enjoyed there popsicles a whole lot!  Ended up getting home about 11:30, which is way past my bedtime, I was completely bushed!!! The pictures of the fireworks didn't turn out as well as I would of hoped.  Still trying to figure out my new fancy camera.  Anyway, hope everyone had a very wonderful 4th of July!  And thank you to all our military past and present who have fought and continue to fight for our FREEDOM!!!

Ultrasound 31 weeks

Well had my last ultrasound done yesterday!  It was a 3D, but couldn't get a very good picture of his face since he has already drop and ready to go!  Also, he was sucking on his fist, so half of his face is blocked!  Everything is good, he has a very good heart beat and a healthy heart.  All of his parts are there, including the very large part that makes him a boy.  I won't post that picture, someone might think I'm posting child porn!  Anyway, from the picture his is quite endowed!!!!
I'm doing pretty good, very uncomfortable and hot all the time.  Only 2 months left! Yipe!  So far I have passed all the tests for pregnant ladies.  Almost didn't pass the diabetic test, but ended up passing that with the 3 hour test!  That was totally boring.  I've been eating like a horse, so my weight gain is pretty steady, but haven't gain an extreme amount of weight.  Only gained so far 22 lbs!
Kaden is finally done with Kindergarden.  He met his 1st grade teacher and some of the kids that are going to be in his class next year.  He's pretty excited about that.  Kohen still talks about going to school, he doesn't realize that Preschool is out for the summer, so I'm always telling him, "schools out for the summer".
Ryan training for SPOTC is almost over and he will go back to his normal shift work.  He's leaves for Tulsa soon for the last competition.  Hope all the guys do a great job!! :-)  It will be weird not having Ryan here for a week.  The last time we spent that much time apart was back in 2001 when I spent 2 weeks in London.  Oh well!! Guess I'll just have to hang out at my parents pool!!! Darn! :-)

Kaden's 6th Birthday

Well this weekend was pretty busy!  We decided to celebrate Kaden's birthday this weekend.  Although, his real birthday isn't untill May 7th, which he keeps reminding me.  I'll say something to the fact that he's 6 now....... and he say's "no mommy I'm still 5"  Kids there so funny that way.  This year he wanted a spiderman birthday, and this year we kept the guest list to just grandpa's and grandma's, and mommy and daddy's brother's and sister's!!!  This way I wouldn't go crazy with a ton of kids in my house, and not to mention keep the birthday gifts to just a few!  If you all could see how many toys we have (and some of you have) you'd agree......NO MORE TOYS!!!!  I'm being forced out of my home from a toy invasion! :-)  Anywho, all in all his party turned out great!!!! He had two out of town guests, Aunt Leanne and Aunt Deana were able to make it down from Seattle this year to help celebrate!!!  And Uncle Ricky called via Skype from Los Angeles! :-)

Easter 2009

Well we had 2 Easter Celebrations this year.  Saturday we went to my parents house and had Easter Dinner and an egg hunt for the kids.  They had a ton of fun!  Today (Sunday) we had Easter Brunch at Ryan's Dads and also had a egg hunt.  It was a pretty busy weekend overall but the kids enjoyed themselves!
Hope everyone had a great Easter!!!

19 weeks and counting......

Well here it is!! This is a shot between the legs.  Not sure if you can see the little arrow pointing at the little goods, but the ultra sound tech tells me that there's a little turtle poking out.  So I guess we are having another boy!
I was a little disappointed but, cause I really wanted a girl, but he's healthy and has a very strong heart beat!  My Quad test (for spina bifida (sp) and downsyndrome all came back negative!  So I'm happy to have a very healthy baby boy!
As far as my sickness goes, I have been off the in home program for 2 weeks now and have been doing pretty good.  No more vomiting, and able to eat lots of foods.  Thank goodness, cause I was getting a little hungry!  I have now finally gained a whole 3 1/2 lbs.  But I think it's mostly all tummy!  That's good! :-)
We have decided to name our little boy Kellen. No middle name yet, I'm still thinking on that!

In home care....

So I started in home medical care yesterday.  I have an IV attached to my left hand for fluids for the next 5 days and I have proton pump attached to my hip for anti-nausea meds till April 4th.  I don't have to be hooked up to the IV all day, just need to make sure that I at least empty one bag of fluid.  The anti-nausea med seems to be working.  I'm starting to feel better and able to eat more food! Yummy!!! The fluids are giving a lot more energy, so I don't feel like a total drag.
As far as the upper ultra sound it came back negative, so they still are not sure what is causing the pain in my stomach, but with these meds that I'm taking now I don't seem to have that problem much anymore.  Which is weird, cause the anti-nausea med I was taking before but in a pill form. The only thing new is fluids and the anit-nausea med is now fluid as well.  HUUUUUMMMMM!  So confusing!  Anyway, all that matters is that I'm feeling better and hopefully on the road to recovery!
My next ultra sound is scheduled for March 18h, so we will hopefully get a good picture if it's a boy or a girl!

New Ultrasound Pic 13 weeks

Well here is a new picture of the baby!  Healthy as can be.  Went in for my upper ultrasound yesterday.  They checked everything under the sun, and she got ultrasound gel all over me.  I hate that. A towel was tucked into my pants and she still managed to get it in my pants!  Oh well! Anyway, should know the results by Monday.  But just wanted to share the latest picture with ya'll!

Dr Appointment

Ok, so I went to the Dr. and they don't think my esophagus is torn.  Kinda hard to diagnose that without a scope.  I may get a scope later, who knows.  But for now I have an upper abdominal ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow.  They want to rule out gall bladder disease and sludge in my stomach.  I guess it's common in pregnancy.  Who knew!  She doesn't think that it's my gall bladder but just wants to be cautious, since I describe some of the same symptoms.
Anyway, she diagnosed me as Hyperemesis.  But we will know more tomorrow after the ultrasound.  I hope anyway!

Ok, I found this on a website.  Kinda gives a little more detail of what Hyperemesis is.  Ok, bare with me I had to type this whole thing.  Wouldn't let me copy and paste!

General Discussion
Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a rare disorder characterized by severe and persistent nausea and vomiting during pregnancy that my necessitate hospitalization.  As a result of frequent nausea and vomiting, affected women experience dehydration, vitamin and mineral deficit, and the loss of greater than 5% of their original body weight.

Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP), more widely known as morning sickness, is a common condition of pregnancy.  Many researchers believe the NVP should be regarded as a continuum of symptoms that may impact an affected woman's physical, mental and social well-being to varying degrees.  Hyperemesis gravdarum represents the severe end of the continuum.  No specific line exists that separates hyperemesis gravidarum from NVP; in most cases affected individuals progress from mild or moderate nausea and vomiting to hyperemesis gravidarum.  The exact cause of hyperemesis gravidarum is not known.

So did you all get all that.  Hope it makes sense. Not sure how they are going to treat me, but I'll keep ya'll updated!

Well as most of you know now..... i'm pregnant!  Just about on my 13th week, so i've finally completed my 1st trimester!  Which I have to say has been completely, utterly miserable!!!!  No JOKE!!!  I started getting sick the before Christmas if you you can believe that!  Go figure!  So I mustered thru like a trooper, just begging for the holidays to hurry so I didn't have to see anyone or do anything!  I pretty much stayed in my house the month of January, only leaving on paydays to get groceries and to take Kaden to school.  I've been so violently sick I pretty much went from bed to couch then bed again.  Not a pretty sight, I'll tell you what!  Had a little scare about 8 weeks.  Started bleeding so I thought I was having a miscarriage again.  I was not to happy about that.  Well they ran an ultrasound and baby had a strong heartbeat!  YEAH!!!!  That's what the picture is from, my 8 week ultrasound.  Looks like a peanut!  Anywho, I went on my merry sick way home with the good news!  I've been having severe stomach pain cause I have Acid Reflux disease and vomiting of course is not helping. So I've been thru every kind of anti-nausea medicine there is and of course I'm taking my Acid Reflux pills.  Still to no avail my stomach is just wrenched with pain.  I'm thinking we are in the 21st century here, there is got to be something they can do.  I'm mean geez ...... it's not 1920!  So ended up in the ER again with severe stomach pain and they presume to guess that I have a tear in my esophagus.  They don't know for sure but that's what there guessing since I've been vomiting a lot!  I suppose they could of done a scope just to make sure, but not sure they really wanted to since I'm preger's and all, but if it's going to help find the cause I say lets do it.  Well no!  Anyway, they gave me an IV shot some pain killers in me and Zofran (anti-nausea) waited for blood work and sent me on my way.  I was feeling pretty good from the pain killers!!! :-) So I guess I have a tear in my esophagus, that's what they say, gave me some pain killers and Zofran for home and told me to follow up with my Dr.  So here it is 1 week later, I think I've only vomited 3 times, which is really good and I have a follow-up with my Dr. tomorrow!  So I guess we will see what happens then.  I've been feeling pretty good, not much pain, a little but manageable.

My children have been completely amazing thru this last month.  They are pretty good at keeping themselves busy, so when I was in bed I would turn the cartoons on and Kohen would come lay in bed with me for about 1 hour.  He did positively wonderful!  Kaden is such a big boy and so loving he would come check my head for a temperature and give me hugs and kisses in hopes that it would help make me feel better.  What a good boy!  He called himself Dr. Kaden!  Of course I can't forget my wonderful husband, Ryan!  He has been taking care of all the household stuff and working, I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband! :-)

So now that I'm almost 13 weeks I'm hoping I'm on the road to recovery!!!! :-)

Christmas 2008

Well Christmas has finally come and gone and a New Year has begun!!!  Christmas was pretty good to us this year.  My brother Ricky was able to come from Los Angeles and Ryan's sister was able to make it from San Diego!  So we had a great Christmas!

Well the Russert's traditional Christmas Eve didn't happen this year cause of all the snow!  This year we were supposed to go out to my dad's sisters house in Mesa, but because there was so much snow we didn't.  So instead we just stayed home.  Well..... me, Kaden and Kohen did!  Ryan was not so fortunate this year, he had to work Christmas Eve night and Christmas day night.  Bummer!! :-)  Anyway, my brother Ricky stayed the night with us Christmas Eve and I think he and Kaden stayed up for awhile playing Wii.  I kept telling Kaden Santa won't come if your awake!  So finally at about 11:30 he fell asleep!  Ryan got home a 7a Christmas morning and woke the boys up.  And guess what?!?!?! Santa came!  Kaden was so excited and Kohen not so much since he was still half asleep.  Kaden was very happy with all his gifts and so was Kohen, still a little to young to get the whole concept.  Anyway, we all go ready and went to Ryan's Dads for Christmas breakfast and to open presents!  The boys were spoiled as usual.   Came home to drop some stuff off and pick up my brother and headed to my parents house.  We opened presents and had our traditional Christmas dinner.  Prime Rib!!! Yummy! :-)  We finally went home completely exhausted and the boys fell asleep in the car.  But our Christmas isn't over yet!  The day after Christmas Ryan is finally off and we decided to have Dinner and open presents at Ryan's moms house.  More presents......the boys were thrilled!  So December 26th our Christmas finally ended!  Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful time!!!

I hope everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas too!!!
